Quick & Easy Low Carb Chicken Wings

My family loves chicken wings.  Unfortunately, restaurants often prepare their wings with gluten containing breading and they fry them in highly processed, refined and rancid oils that wreak havoc on our body.  So, why not make them at home!  They are so easy to make and you’ll know exactly how they are being prepared.  They are great on a Friday night, easy to bring to a dinner party (and always a hit!) or they can be prepared after a busy day at work…..because they involve only a few steps. Over the past few years, I have really made the effort to purchase 100% organic meat and poultry and only US wild caught fish.  One of my favorite sources for purchasing premium organic meat and poultry has been from Butcher Box.  The orders arrive quickly and are sealed in a box with sustainable insulation and dry ice along with a reusable insulated shopping bag.  For this recipe, I used their 3-pound package of party wings.

I like to line my sheet pan with foil and then I place a cookie rack onto of the pan.  This allows for proper airflow under the wings so that they will crisp up a bit.

This recipe is so easy and involves only a few ingredients!  I use organic avocado oil and organic garlic salt and organic black pepper.

Place the wings in a stainless steal bowl.

I coat my wings with the organic avocado oil and then generously sprinkle the organic garlic salt and pepper onto the wings.  Then give them a toss with tongs.

Place the wings on the rack and place in a 425 degree preheated oven.

I cooked these for about 1 hour.  It is also best to turn them from time to time to make sure they brown evenly. 165 degrees Fahrenheit is the proper internal temperature for dark and light poultry.

My family enjoys their wings with a freshly tossed salad.  You can also serve the wings with your favorite hot sauce, blue-cheese dressing, sour cream….whatever you like!  We eat ours with Frank’s Hot Sauce and freshly crumbled blue cheese mixed with sour cream for a cleaner dipping sauce without added chemicals and processed oils commonly found in bottled dressings.

I hope you enjoy these!
